This movement is a complicated three train mechanism from an antique cuckoo - quail clock. We completely disassemble, ultrasonically clean, install new busings and conduct a variety of repairs on unusual clocks such as this one on a regular basis.
	All clock movements are tested thoroughly before they are returned to their owners. A variety of floor clock movements are shown here on our test stand. The movement in the foreground is an 1830's wooden works that has been repaired and is now running strong after 175 years of service!
Many modern clocks utilize battery operated movements. From time to time they too malfunction. We stock a wide variety of replacement movements, with or without chimes.
	Parts are no longer availalbe for many old clocks. Often, it is necessary to make new parts or conduct specialized repairs on damaged parts. This photo shows a new mainspring barrel gear being fabricated on our gear cutting equipment.
This is an antique English bell strike movement from the early 1800's. We made a new gear (lower right) to replace a missing gear. Now the clock is able to advance the calendar dial again.
	Wooden works clocks have long been a speciality of ours. New teeth are fabricated to replace broken ones, worn bearings are restored, and general repairs undertaken.
We repair numerous cuckoo clocks. There seems to be a never ending supply of cuckoo clocks in the world, but we understand that each one tends to hold some special meaning for its' owner. Great care is taken to bring each one back to its' full potential.
	Not every clock is a family heirloom, but we will diligently repair pretty much any clock brought to us. A little humor in life is a good thing.

A quality repair of a mechanical clock should include two key elements. First, it should be completely disassembled and thoroughly cleaned. We have various techniques for cleaning, including ultrasonics. The second key element is that worn bearing surfaces should be reamed out and new bushings installed. After these important steps have been completed, any repairs specific to that particular movement can be undertaken. Any thing short of this kind of an approach, we feel is less than adequate for a quality repair.
